Installing the Reader+ apps

Reader+ can range in size from 30-200MB and just like movies and other larger files they may take some time to download on slower internet connections.

Devices compatible with Reader+

Reader+ products are available for use on the following devices:

PC
Mac
iPad

The Reader+ app

Users can access the online format of their Pearson eBook via their Pearson Places Passport on a PC or Mac.

The offline formats of Reader+ require the installation of the Reader+ app on the relevant device. All Reader+ apps feature the icon shown below.

Installing the Reader+ offline app: PC

The Reader+ offline PC app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline, via a computer running Windows 7 , Windows 8 and Windows 10 (both 32 bit and 64bit ). If you are using older versions, use the online version of eBook. Go to www.whatsmybrowser.org to find out what your operating system is.

  1. There are two installers available: if you have a 64 bit machine, the installer is called Win64-20171004_sinprod.zipicon.
  2. If you have a 32 bit machine, the installer is called 32 bit app: Win32-20171004_Sinprod.zip. Both will have the the Reader+ icon.
  3. Select the Installer icon to open it and follow the prompts.
  4. Access your offline app from your computer’s Start menu or use the desktop shortcut to the app (if you opted to install a desktop shortcut during the installation process). The app will feature the same Reader+ icon.
  5. Select the App Icon to open the Bookshelf.

Installing the Reader+ offline app: Mac

The Reader+ offline Mac app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline on macOS 10.10 and above. Go here to find out what your operating system is: www.whatsmybrowser.org

  1. To download the Reader+ offline app installer for Mac, select the link below (administrator rights required)

  2. Find your Reader+ installer in your Downloads folder. The installer is called Mac-20171004_Sinprod.zip and has the Reader+ icon.
  3. Right-click or hold the Control key and Click the installer icon, select Open and follow the prompts. If the installer will not open, see instructions in the GateKeeper Warning article.
  4. Once the app is installed, find the offline app shortcut in your Mac’s Application folder. The file path is typically: Macintosh HD/Applications. Drag the shortcut to your dock for easy access.
  5. Select the App Icon to open the bookshelf.

Installing the Reader+ app: iPad

The Reader+ iPad app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline via your iPad running iOS 8.3 or higher. Compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

  1. On your iPad, follow the link below. Alternatively, go to the App Store on your iPad and search for ‘Reader+’. The app will feature the Reader+ icon.

  2. From the Reader+ page in the App Store, select Free to install the app.
  3. Once the app has installed, it will appear on your iPad's home screen with the Reader+ icon. Select the Icon to access the bookshelf.

Installing the Reader+ app: Android

The Reader+ Android app allows you to view your Reader+ offline on a tablet running Android 4.1 or higher.

  1. On your Android tablet, follow the link below. Alternatively, go to the Google Play Store on your Android tablet and search for ‘Reader+’. The app will feature the Reader+ icon.

  2. From the Reader+ page in the Play app, select Install.
  3. Once the app has installed, it will appear on your Android tablet and feature the Reader+ icon. Select the Icon to access the Reader+ bookshelf.
