Installing the eBook apps

Pearson eBooks can range in size from 30-200MB and just like movies and other larger files they may take some time to download on slower internet connections.

Devices compatible with Pearson eBook 3.0

Pearson eBook 3.0 products are available for use on the following devices:

PC
Mac
iPad
Android™ tablet.


The Pearson eBook 3.0 app

Users can access the online format of their Pearson eBook via their Pearson Places Passport on a PC or Mac.

The offline formats of Pearson eBook 3.0 require the installation of the Pearson eBook 3.0 app on the relevant device. All Pearson eBook 3.0 apps feature the icon shown below.


Installing the Pearson eBook offline app: PC

The Pearson eBook 3.0 offline PC app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline, via a computer running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows RT, use the online version of eBook. Go to www.whatsmybrowser.org to find out what your operating system is.

  1. To download the eBook offline app installer for PC, select the link below. The installer is called Pearson eBook Bookshelf Win v3_x.msi and will have the Pearson eBook icon.
  2. Select the Installer icon to open it and follow the prompts.
  3. Access your offline app from your computer’s Start menu or use the desktop shortcut to the app (if you opted to install a desktop shortcut during the installation process). The app will feature the same Pearson eBook icon.
  4. Select the App Icon to open the Bookshelf.

Installing the Pearson eBook offline app: Mac

The Pearson eBook 3.0 offline Mac app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline on Mac OS  10.6.8 and higher. Go here to find out what your operating system is: www.whatsmybrowser.org

  1. To download the eBook offline app installer for Mac, select the link below.
  2. Find your Pearson eBook installer in your Downloads folder. The installer is called Pearson_eBook_Bookshelf_Mac_V3_x.pkg and has the Pearson eBook icon.
  3. Right-click or hold the Control key and Click the installer icon, select Open and follow the prompts. If the installer will not open, see instructions in the GateKeeper Warning article.
  4. Once the app is installed, find the offline app shortcut in your Mac’s Application folder. The file path is typically: Macintosh HD/Applications. Drag the shortcut to your dock for easy access.
  5. Select the App Icon to open the bookshelf.

Installing the Pearson eBook app: iPad

The Pearson eBook 3.0 iPad app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline via your iPad running iOS 9 or higher.

  1. On your iPad, follow the link below. Alternatively, go to the App Store on your iPad and search for ‘Pearson eBook’. The app will feature the Pearson eBook icon.

  2. From the Pearson eBook page in the App Store, select Free to install the app.
  3. Once the app has installed, it will appear on your iPad's home screen with the Pearson eBook icon. Select the Icon to access the Pearson eBook bookshelf.

Installing the Pearson eBook app: Android

The Pearson eBook 3.0 Android app allows you to view your Pearson eBook offline on a tablet running Android 4.0.3 or higher.

  1. On your Android tablet, follow the link below. Alternatively, go to the Google Play Store on your Android tablet and search for ‘Pearson eBook’. The app will feature the Pearson eBook icon.

  2. From the Pearson eBook page in the Play app, select Install.
  3. Once the app has installed, it will appear on your Android tablet and feature the Pearson eBook icon. Select the Icon to access the Pearson eBook bookshelf.
