Mac installer Gatekeeper warning

If you see the following warning while attempting to install the eBook for Mac application, please follow these instructions to complete the installation.
- If you haven't downloaded the installer, select the icon below
- Find your Pearson eBook installer in your Downloads folder. The installer is called Pearson_eBook_Bookshelf_Mac_V3_x.pkg and has the Pearson eBook icon
- Right-click or hold the Control key and Click the installer icon and select Open from the menu
- The message below will appear, select Open to open the eBook application installer and follow the prompts to install the application. If you don't see the Open button, see Changing Gatekeeper settings
- Once the app is installed, find the offline app shortcut in your Mac’s Application folder. The file path is typically: Macintosh HD/Applications. Drag the shortcut to your dock for easy access.
- Select the App Icon to open the bookshelf.
Changing Gatekeeper settings
If your computer is owned and administered by your school, you will probably need to refer this issue to your IT administrator. If you own your computer, please follow these instructions:
- Open System Preferences. You will find it the dock, or enter 'system preferences' into Spotlight
- In System Preferences, select Security & Privacy. You should see the panel below:
- If the lock in the bottom-left corner is locked, select the lock and enter your user password. If this isn't accepted, contact the person who administers your computer
- Under the 'Allow apps downloaded from' select: Anywhere
- Attempt to install the eBook application again
- Once installation is complete, return to the Security & Privacy panel and under 'Allow apps downloaded from' select: Mac App Store and identified developers.
